Here are some comments from DonsPodRadio/CKW Listeners. We appreciate your candor and are doing our best to create a weekly podcast that you will support. Thanks to everyone who took the time to tell us what you like and how we are doing.I am still listening and you should be proud on how the program is evolving, though I must admit that I enjoy the music more than the historic moment discussions. Appreciate the background on Canadian Music. How about having Rollie the Goalie do a feature on dead NHL teams; I grew up on the California (Oakland) Seals….RIP and damn Charlie Finley-who drove the franchise into the ground!
Thanks for starting the Canadian artist of the week feature. Here are a few others to think about with a suggested song for you to consider. I would prefer to mainly hear songs that maybe weren’t the biggest hit for these groups. I know you already play a lot of these musicians on your show, but this is what came to mind.
Edward Bear- Close Your Eyes
April Wine- You Could Have Been a Lady
BTO- Hey You
The Band- The Shape I’m in
DeFranco Family- Heartbeat is a Love Beat
Five Man Electrical Band- Absolutely Right
Guess Who- Star Baby
Stampeders- Carry Me (Never heard it….but understand it was popular in Canada)
Mashmakan- As the Years Go By
You are helping to keep the music alive. Keep up the good work. It is much appreciated and obviously a labor of love for you and the guys.Great show
this week with the new
programs; love Al Murphy’s Trivia segment. I can’t wait to
hear the Trivia question about who the worst owner in the history of the
NHL is!
Charlie Finley wins this hands down.
Also love the
Double spin of one artist.
Del Shannon was a great choice.
I thought of
one more Canadian act that I
don’t remember you ever playing…..Lighthouse. How about a
double spin of One Fine Morning and Pretty Lady to fulfill the Canadian
spot
and Double spin both? I love this band and never hear them anymore;
even
on satellite radio.
I noticed you
played Houston by Dean Martin this week. I don’t
know if that was for me, but it was cool anyway. I spent most of my
life
in California,
but am becoming more Texan everyday.
Thanks for listening and the great work.
